Development of 150 nm and 130 nm process products commenced
In response to the demands voiced by customers to utilize its cutting-edge processes, SANYO has teamed with foundry manufacturers both in Japan and overseas, and has now started taking orders for its 150 nm and 130 nm process ASICs.
Currently, the company is busy dealing with a torrent of inquiries from its customers.
Technology that achieves ultralow power consumption
By extending and applying its technology that has been fostered by the development of ICs for portable audio equipment in the field of ASICs as well, SANYO is now ready to offer solutions for reducing power consumption down to the levels demanded by its customers.
This technology is one reason why SANYO's ASICs have received such high critical acclaim.
Offering system solutions by utilizing ISB packages
Mainly in response to the trend toward ever smaller sizes and lighter weight (properties that are fervently sought after in portable products and devices) SANYO is using its ISB (Integrated System in Board) technology (a circuit board fabrication technology) to offer system solutions. ISB allows the creation of structures that ICs fabricated in different processes including not only ASICs but BIP products and flash memories as well to be mounted in a single package. Refer to the photo below which shows configuration of the product (an example of what the company has developed).
