SANYO Semiconductor Co., Ltd. announces the addition of a new small size 8-bit 14-pin, LC87F2708A, microcontroller to the “Easy Micon™” series. The “Easy Micon™” series are small size microcontrollers based on Sanyo’s concept of “Easy-to-Use and Designer-Friendly” products.
The new small size low pin count microcontrollers start with the 14-pin, LC87F2708A, microcontroller followed by 10-pin and 8-pin microcontrollers in the near future based on the “Easy Micon™” technology. The “Easy Micon™” technology focuses on low power consumption, high performance, and user-friendly development tools with the emphasis on low cost system solutions.
Product Main Features
1.Achieves high performance with sufficient function and memory capacity within a small package size
- 4-pin, Flash ROM: 8K byte, RAM: 512 byte
- Low pin count makes the package smaller, which is suitable for smaller circuit board design. It has necessary functions and memory capacity despite its smaller size and is capable of controlling PC peripheral equipment, audio visual equipment, and home appliances.
2.Number of parts reduced with built-in oscillator and reset circuit, which enables low cost system
- The number of external parts was reduced by incorporating oscillation circuit and reset circuit into the microcontroller that generate the system clock. That leads to cost reduction of the system.
3.Low current consumption contributes to the reduction of power consumption of equipment
- High speed operation : 4.9mA(typ.) Reduced by 50% compared to existing products
- Hold mode: 20nA(typ.) Reduced by 20% compared to existing products (when all optional functions are stopped)
4.Supports designers with excellent user-friendly development tools
- “Easy Micon™” trial kits with on-chip debugger are available.
- Evaluation can be done by replacing 14-pin/24-pin/36-pin/48-pin on the sub-substrate.
- Effective use of main substrate contributes to environmental friendliness.
